Meet with the nurse prior to
seeing the provider to discuss your past medical and surgical history, family
medical history and brief genetic screening. Then the nurse briefly discusses
tests done during pregnancy, plan of care during pregnancy, nutrition, travel
and even exercise.
Gynecology covers a wide range
of services, from routine annual exams to minimally invasive surgeries to
gynecologic oncology services. Our physicians provide expertise in all aspects
of gynecologic care, including menopause, contraceptive options, abnormal
menstruation and cancer screening.
Breastfeeding Classes are
offered every other month here in our office for any patient that is expecting
a baby. The class is designed to inform patients and their spouse what to
expect when breastfeeding as well as what to have at home to be ready to
breastfeeding successfully.
Lactation Counselors are available during normal office hours to assist you
with any concerns you have about breastfeeding and offer support. They are
also available to come to the hospital when you deliver to help establish a
good technique for breastfeeding as well.
Mammogram is an x ray picture taken
of the breast. They can detect cancer in its earliest stages, even before a lump
can be felt. Mammograms are recommended yearly for women ages 40 and over.
Mammograms are an important tool for diagnosing breast cancer early. During
the mammogram, the breast is placed on the shelf, compressed and x rayed. This
may cause some discomfort but not pain. Usually results are available with 1
week of having the pictures taken.
Massage is beneficial for Pregnant
women and women of all ages. Massage can help relieve insomnia, low back pain,
stress and tension, muscles spasms and fatigue. In addition it will improve
circulation, increase blood supply to muscles and improve your range of motion.
Incontinence is the accidental
release of urine which often occurs when you cough, laugh, sneeze, or have
sudden urges to go to the bathroom and can't get there in time. There are
various types of urinary incontinence they are stress, urge, and mixed
incontinence.

This exam is simple and painless.
You will be asked to lie on a table and breathe normally. A scanner arm will
pass over your body and a dual beam of low energy will pass through your body.
This will produce a very accurate measurement of your bone density.
Ultrasound is a diagnostic
tool used to check the pelvis, breast or abdomen for any abnormal findings such
as cyst, fibroid or tumor. This is usually used in conjunction with other tests
to determine the degree of the abnormal findings or rule out other conditions.
During the ultrasound you may feel mild pressure for a little while
